Delicate, petal-shaped gold drop earrings handcrafted from a fine black Australian clay and glazed in deep ocean blue. Each petal is individually cut, curved by hand, and lightly textured before being glazed — creating a surface that shifts from near-black at the edges to a burst of light glossy blue at the centre.
The reverse of each petal is left unglazed, revealing the beautiful raw black clay beneath. Hung on 14k gold filled hooks, these earrings honour natural form and considered craft. Part of the Deep Blue collection, made in a small studio on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Each petal begins as a small piece of silky black Australian clay, hand-cut into shape, textured and gently curved into a petal shape. The form is fired once, then the ocean blue glaze is carefully brushed on by hand and the earring is fired a second time — a process that draws out the rich, glossy tones and the characteristic gradient from deep blue-black at the rim to bright blue at the centre.
The reverse of each petal is deliberately left unglazed to show the natural beauty of the black clay body — a quiet detail that rewards a closer look.
The 14k gold filled hooks are formed from gold filled wire, chosen to contrast the depth of the blue glaze without overpowering the ceramic.
